It’s that time of the year again when we prepare for the holidays, spend quality time with the family, look back on the old year, and make resolutions for the new one.
If one of your resolutions for the coming year is to become more organized in both your personal and professional life, get your schedule in better shape in 2015 with the help of one of these fantastic calendar apps:
Wave comes with all the perks you’d like to see in a calendar application: multiple views, integrated invitations, calendar syncing, event notifications, and more.
Best feature: Wave can also be used as a to-do list app, and conveniently merges your appointments and your tasks (synced from Google Tasks if you like).
Platform: Android, iPad, iPhone
2. Today Calendar
Today Calendar is a great choice because of its simple design. It also offers a widget that keeps your appointments on your main screen.
Best feature: The ever-present “edit” button, very handy when you want to add or change an entry.
Price: Free 30-day trial, then $5.99
Calvetica is one of my favorite calendar apps. The entry functionality is simple yet complete, which makes Calvetica a great companion for anyone with a heavy schedule.
Best feature: When an appointment or task has been completed, Calvetica ticks it off for you, even in miniature view.
Timeful is taking calendar apps to the next level. By feeding it a few details about your routine and lifestyle, the app learns from your habits and starts to suggest certain activities (going for a run, perhaps?) at a convenient time.
Best feature: The calendar design is clean and simple, making a packed day look less overwhelming. Plus, it encourages you to develop good habits, as mentioned above.
The founding fathers of Any.do, one of the best to-do list apps out there, have created an app that matches their first hit so perfectly: Cal. You can now manage your to-do list and appointments in one convenient app!
Best feature: Each event you create will have complete information attached: the location or list of participants (from your contacts), so that you always have the complete picture of what’s coming up.
Platform: iOS, Android
6. Calendars 5
This calendar app offers a wide variety of layouts. Whether you prefer the weekly, daily, monthly, or by-list view, Calendars 5 displays your calendar exactly the way you prefer.
Best feature: The design is colorful yet functional, and I love the choice of icons to represent each different type of activity.
Sunrise is one of the more popular calendar apps out there. It is intuitive, easy to use, and comes with all the sweet features you’d want a calendar to have. It’s definitely a solid choice!
Best feature: Sunrise is also available for your Mac, for even better cross-platform use.
Platform: iOS, OS X, Android
This calendar brings an interesting, new concept to the table: “What about those events and happenings beyond my own calendar?” UpTo gives you the chance to follow public calendars so that you’ll never miss an event you want to attend again.
Best feature: The calendars you follow are hidden and placed on a second layer, from where you can pull them forward as you like.
Platform: iOS, Android
Tempo is a well-rounded calendar app, with the mission to make your calendar experience as seamless as possible.
Best feature: Tempo includes a “running late” feature. Instead of having to type out your message, simply inform everyone in the meeting with one click.
Kiwi helps you connect with your friends through your calendar. By discovering local events, and the option to share them with your friends, you can now make plans through your calendar directly.
Best feature: This calendar is meant for you to share and enjoy things together, which is a very cool idea.
With any of these great calendars apps at your side, 2015 will be off to a great — and well-organized — start!
